Unit 5: Possible story elements.

Here are a few ideas I could include in my final story:

• Fridges having an a fight using their ice dispensers as weapons. Small shy smeg gets bullied.

• Mini fridge as a small dog or baby fridge.

•  Actual fridge noises as means of communication between other fridges.

•  "Jerry's fridge freezers" store where story takes place, instead of drawing a whole environment i could just have a sign.

• Shy smeg fridge idolizes new modern "icenator 3000.

•  A Shy fridge is placed on a rotating  podium for customers to see, it suffers from motion sickness and stage fright, as a result it vomits up all the food it contains. 

•  Male smeg fancies girl smeg.

Unit 5: Introduction Research.

For Unit 5 my object is a "refrigerator" and my behavior is "diffident".
Diffident means Modest or shy...

My first thought was to animate a (diffident) vintage style fridge such as the Smeg or leonard or any retro style. As  they have a much more interesting shape and character to them, compared to modern fridges.

I also want to draw inspiration from old american refrigerator commercials, as some even tell small stories..

  Private Detective, stilts, movie set.

 

Private Detective: For the small amount of time i have, the detective will be you typical trench coat, hat and revolver. this is so the audience can quickly identify what type of character he is.

Stilts: Instead of using traditional wooden stilts i will use modern jumping stilts, as this will make the story much more dynamic and cool.

Film set:   The story won’t be set on a film set but an abandoned film set with a scale model of a city could be used.

Story idea.

A private detective is drawn to a case involving a person who has been murdered by a strange creature that is extremely fast and agile, upon investigating the case the detective finds himself being hunted by this creature, this is where the animatic will start, lots of fast cuts and dark low-key lighting for suspense. I will integrate the movie by having the detective break into and old special effects studio, the set could be a scaled model of a city, giving us a king kong vs. Godzilla effect.
